Lord Laertes is known as the First Anointed, because he was one of the first Titans sent to war, disguised as a U.S. soldier to showcase the abilities of Titans. While he was not the first to draw blood, he has been to more deployments than any other undercover Titan. Though, thanks to his unwillingness to work with others, the U.S. command has no more use for him.

He is now an officer back in the Halberdiers' home of Apex, whose duty is to train the other Titans in the ways of real combat. While his methods are extreme, they are effective.

The majority of Skellions and Byoorpeds do not care for him; he is the sort of Titan who finds the assistance of the 'lesser two races' to be unnecessary. Though even then, he much prefers the company of his fellow Halberdiers to the company of the humans. A skellion is less able in battle than a human, but is almost always more ready and willing to enter battle anyway. Whatever the case, he is brash, egotistical, unpleasant, ...and yet beyond reproach.
